City of Independence puts historic sites GO bond issue on the ballot
The Independence City Council unanimously voted to put a General Obligation (GO) bond issue for city-owned historic sites on the Nov. 3, 2026 ballot. An earlier GO bond for historic sites (Question 3) narrowly failed in April 2025. It received 55.4% voter approval, but just short of Missouri's constitutional threshold for passage. Below is the prior vote.
